HRA, Inc. presented a workshop at the 2007 ABC - All aBout Children Conference hosted by Knox County Bright Futures early childhood programs. The workshop provided cultural competence training for early childhood educators and parents. Participants learned about the concept of cultural competence and strategies for enhancing the cultural awareness of children.

One of the first components stressed in HRA, Inc. training sessions is the importance of understanding self. Before one can effectively and comfortably engage in meaningful discussion or dialogue with individuals different than themselves, it is essential to be comfortable with one's own identity.
